MacroNoteTerms of Service

These Terms govern your use of MacroNote (the “Service”), operated from Switzerland by the operator named in our Legal notice (see Impressum). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them.
1. The service
MacroNote is a food-tracking app with an optional coaching layer. Its AI-assisted calorie and macronutrient figures are estimates for general information only — not medical or nutritional advice.
2. Your account
You need an account to use most features and must be at least 16. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email secure.
3. Acceptable use
Do not use the Service unlawfully, attempt to breach its security or access other users' data, scrape it automatically, or resell access.
4. Plans and billing
Free features require no payment. Paid plans (Premium, Coach) are billed through our payment provider, Paddle, acting as merchant of record. Prices are shown excluding VAT / sales tax. Any applicable taxes are calculated and added at checkout, which is handled by Paddle. Paid subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
5. Free trial
The Coach plan may start with a 14-day free trial. Unless you cancel before it ends, it converts to a paid subscription at the price shown when you started.
6. Your data
You own the data you enter. You grant us the limited rights needed to run the Service — storing your entries and sending food descriptions or photos to our AI provider to generate estimates.
7. Intellectual property
MacroNote, its software and branding remain ours. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service.
8. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided “as is”. AI estimates can be wrong; do not rely on them for medical decisions. To the extent the law allows, our total liability is capped at what you paid in the 12 months before a claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms.
10. Changes and governing law
We may update these Terms; we will notify material changes in-app or by email. These Terms are governed by Swiss law, subject to any mandatory consumer protections where you live. Questions: support@macronote.ch.
